On Saturday, 14 August 2021, 141 228-7 was taken over by the Museumsbahn e. V. during a small internal ceremony. The electric locomotive, colloquially known as the “firecracker” because of its distinctive switching noises, was previously the property of DB Regio AG. In the meantime, it has become the property of the Deutsche Bahn Foundation and after successful negotiations it may – now “under its own flag” – continue to be used at our events and in front of special trains.
