Restoration of waggon no. 20 completed
The external restoration and optical refurbishment of waggon no. 20 of the former Gelnhausen District Railway was completed in the past few weeks. For the first time in many years, we were able to present the complete set (together with waggon no. 19 and locomotive VL12) at the Bahnwelttage. With this train set, we are showing a typical representative of the late era of private German branch lines from the region of southern and central Hesse. Now the interior is being prepared a bit more.
Cleaning up after the Bahnwelttage
For the Bahnwelttage, some vehicles were moved around the site, for example, to have enough space in the locomotive shed for the barbecue stand or temporary parking facilities for the operating locomotives. After the event, some of the vehicles were moved back to their original locations. The rail tractor was used as a shunting helper.
Completion of the fencing work on Steinstraße
The renewal measures of the fence on Steinstraße behind the locomotive shed in the area of the new storage containers could be completed. The last official act was to install the wire mesh fence. The two containers are now emblazoned with a historic DB biscuit on a red board.
