23 042 on a visit to Hanau

Last Saturday was finally the day!
After almost 11 years, our 23 042 left Darmstadt-Kranichstein station for the first time.
A visit to the locomotive shed festival of the Hanau museum railway, where the locomotive was used for cab rides, was used for a first test run. The locomotive could not (yet) be used as a train engine due to its lack of certification and was therefore transferred by 215 082 of the Aggerbahn. Nevertheless, it was important to move the 23 under steam for once.
This meant that important tests could be carried out during the journey after the comprehensive main inspection.
All in all, the tour went very well and the machine worked perfectly so far.
In the coming time, there are still a few deficiencies to be worked on and small things to be repaired until the final acceptance of the locomotive can be carried out. You will be informed about the further procedure in due course.
Many thanks for the support and cooperation to the Museumseisenbahn Hanau e. V. and the UEF GmbH!
