On Saturday, 1 June 2024, an enthusiastic railway enthusiast and model railway enthusiast celebrated his sixtieth birthday in the engine shed of the railway museum: Stefan Rauterkus from Kelkheim am Taunus was so impressed during a visit to the location in 2023 that he wanted to celebrate his birthday in a pure railway atmosphere. As part of the celebration, his 50 invited guests were given a demonstration of a “museum in operation” at various stations: Among other things, the production of spare parts in the historic forge, the function of road/rail transport using Culemeyer vehicles and the museum’s training signal box were presented before moving on to the actual birthday celebration. The catering by Gastronomie Thomas Müller, which was highly praised by him and his guests, contributed to a “very successful evening” (according to Stefan Rauterkus), as did the museum’s volunteers with their demonstrations.
