The 15 enthusiasts from the Geneva Tramway Club were aware that vintage electric trams require a completely different environment than steam locomotives when they visited the railway museum on 6 September 2024. For some of them, however, it was the first time they had been able to experience the maintenance of steam locomotives in an authentic environment in a railway depot with a roundhouse, turntable and locomotive treatment facilities. The layout of the locomotive shed with its workshop track, axle sink and smithy offered visitors a previously unknown environment, the atmosphere of which was particularly well received. As a result, the tour lasted considerably longer than planned, after the work on the “Zuckersusi”, locomotive 98 727, could also be examined in detail.
