Special steam train journey to the Dieburg St Martin’s Market
On Saturday and Sunday, 7 and 8 November 2026, we’ll take you by historic steam train from Darmstadt Central Station to the Dieburg St Martin’s Market.
Enjoy the first hot mulled wine of the season and the cosy pre-Christmas atmosphere. Take the children for a spin on the carousel and treat yourselves to a selection of delicacies and a wide variety of goods from over 100 stalls run by a diverse range of traders. Another special highlight is the historic market, where you can experience first-hand how blacksmiths, scissors grinders, bookbinders, glassblowers and many others once practised their crafts.
On both days, our train runs three times from Darmstadt Central Station to Dieburg and back, and you are free to choose your outward and return journeys when booking your tickets. This gives you flexibility and allows you to decide for yourself how long you wish to stay.
