The Gelnhäuser Kreisbahnen were a company owned by the former district of Gelnhausen. The district acquired the majority of shares in various local small railways and united them in 1937 to form the Gelnhäuser Kreisbahnen. After the Second World War, the Kreisbahnen became a department of the Kreiswerke Gelnhausen and were closed down step by step until 1995.
Our car is the driving trailer of a push-pull train and had two large compartments (2nd class) and a driving compartment. It ran with the VL 12 (MaK 240C) and served the Wächtersbach-Bad Orb railway line.
