Days of Industrial Culture Rhine-Main 2022

The Days of Industrial Culture Rhine-Main will take place this year from 03.09. to 11.09.2022 under the motto “Shaping the Future”.

The Railway Museum is participating with special guided tours on 04.09., 07.09. and 11.09., each from 10 am to 4 pm. The workplace of the locomotive driver on steam, diesel and electric locomotives will be shown yesterday and today. How has the shape of the controls and the way of driving a locomotive changed? How have the tasks of the locomotive crew changed from the steam age to today and what role will a driver have in the future? Will there still be a locomotive or traction unit driver at all in the future? Or will trains soon run completely autonomously, as is already the case with some metropolitan subways?

These and other questions will be answered during the tour. The visitors are welcome to discuss the aspects of future development.

The museum is open during regular opening hours and admission prices.

Please note: As part of the Industrial Heritage Days, only special guided tours on the main theme will take place on 4, 7 and 11 September. On 11.09. there will also be special guided tours on the occasion of the Open Monument Day. On these dates, the vehicle collection is only accessible within the framework of these guided tours. General guided tours of the vehicle collections will be offered again from 14 September.
