Tegelijkertijd helpt de Vereniging Hessisch Museum met een subsidie van vijf cijfers, zodat de restauratie op grotere schaal kan worden uitgevoerd. Hier wordt de eerder aangeschafte bodemring gemonteerd op de vuurkist, die ook vooraf is gerepareerd (foto linksboven). Het voordeel van de kottermolen is zijn mobiliteit. Hij kan in verschillende posities worden gebracht door de boorkop te draaien en de giek te verstellen.
