Een overeenkomstige poort moet later in de achterwand van de locomotiefloods worden aangebracht. In de ruimte die door het spoor wordt ontsloten, staan momenteel een draaibank en een embossing-polijstmachine voor wielstellen opgesteld. Dit maakt het mogelijk om assen die via de assengoot in de sporen 1 en 2 zijn verwijderd, via de draaitafel direct voor deze machines uit te rollen en te verwerken. Ter voorbereiding van de aanleg van het spoor werd dit gebied afgegraven, zodat later een onderbouw van mineraal beton kon worden aangelegd waarop het spoor zou worden aangelegd.
