Net als het nieuwere deel van de locomotiefloods had het oude gebouw al in klinkers gemetselde putten met een lengte van ca. 15 m en toegangstrappen om van onderaf onderhoudswerkzaamheden aan de locomotieven te kunnen uitvoeren. In het te verbouwen gedeelte is het om redenen van tijd en kosten niet de bedoeling de kuilen in een toegankelijke en bruikbare toestand te houden. Uit het oogpunt van monumentenzorg is het echter noodzakelijk het ontwerp en de ligging van de kuilen te documenteren. Daartoe zullen zij \u00e9\u00e9n voor \u00e9\u00e9n worden blootgelegd.<\/p>\n<p>Het blijkt dat de opvulling in die tijd voornamelijk gebeurde met bouwpuin. Vervolgens worden de kuilen weer opgevuld en verdicht, zodat de nieuwe sporen die in deze gebieden zullen worden aangelegd, op een stabiele ondergrond rusten.<\/p>\n<p>Om aan onze hoge kwaliteitsnormen te voldoen en de beste verdichtingsprestaties te bereiken, worden de werkzaamheden uitgevoerd door onze door de spoorwegautoriteit gecertificeerde
