On 2 October 2024, another of our well-established and well-attended lecture evenings took place at the museum. The museum’s cafeteria was filled to capacity when our member Andreas Mampel spoke about the Swiss L\u00f6tschberg railway (operated by BLS: Bern-L\u00f6tschberg-Simplon). He covered everything from the beginnings and the corresponding historical vehicles and events to the present day and a little beyond. The very informative lecture was enlivened by numerous pictures of the vehicles, lines and tunnels (interior and exterior views). The presentation was followed by a lively discussion. The speaker was able to confidently answer the questions that arose.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The next lecture evening will also be organised by Andreas Mampel. Together with his brother Matthias Mampel, he will present the operation and technology of the railway museum’s signal box.
