Last week, new forklift drivers were trained in the association. Since heavy tools, spare parts for locomotives or building materials have to be transported time and again, the help of forklift trucks is needed in many places. With our workshop manager Stephan Hoffmann, an experienced trainer was at the side of the aspirants.<\/p>\n

On the first day, they “went to school”. Theory was the order of the day. What types of vehicles are there and how is a forklift truck constructed? What has to be observed before, during and after use? And what about safety?
\nKnowledge of physics was also required, because the law of leverage is the basis of everything.<\/p>\n

To check whether everyone had paid attention correctly, there was also a written test that was immediately evaluated. Passed! First hurdle cleared.<\/p>\n

On the second day, it was time for practice. First the forklift truck was instructed. Then they had to work with the load. It was fitting that an event had recently taken place in the locomotive shed and the pit covers had to be cleared away. But there was still no room in the sliding wall wagon intended for storage. The last new shed door for the locomotive shed is stored here. So out with it for the time being. This was an exciting affair for the newcomers. Already fully glazed, nobody wanted to be responsible for broken glass. But this hurdle was taken with flying colours.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, we were able to welcome three new forklift drivers to our ranks, more precisely drivers of industrial trucks. Congratulations on this!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
