This mystery is easy to solve, as this leads to our two wheelset turning machines, where we can give old, worn wheel tyres a new tread. One of the two large machines is hidden under a protective tarpaulin in the photo on the right.<\/p>\n<p>Why a good tread on the tyres is just as important for railway vehicles as it is for cars can be found out in our <a href=\"https:\/\/bahnwelt.de\/en\/das-museum\/ausstellungen\/oberbau\/\">superstructure exhibition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To make the path not only passable again, but also passable, we have built a level crossing with special concrete slabs.
