SUMMARY:Christmas model railway days at the railway museum
DESCRIPTION:On 28 and 29 December 2024, the Darmstadt-Kranichstein Railway Museum will once again be holding its traditional Christmas Model Railway Days. The focus will be on the “Lehrstellwerk” and “Darmstädter Hauptbahnhof 1846” exhibition and demonstration layouts as well as the museum’s numerous other models and showpieces. There will also be a small model railway exchange organised by our model building group. The large uniform exhibition and the superstructure exhibition will also be open. The event takes place in the heated museum building. There, the cafeteria invites you to a cosy get-together in a historical ambience. Due to the winter break in the open-air grounds and engine shed, it is not possible to view the original vehicles.\nAdmission is free, but donations are welcome.\nThe volunteer members of the association look forward to welcoming many visitors!\nProgramme:\n\n\nModel railway of Darmstadt Central Station from 1846\nTraining signal box with locomotive simulator\nShow module “Turning steam into electricity” and model railway exchange\nGuest model railway\nMoBaTrain model railway exchange\nPermanent exhibitions open in the museum building: Superstructure, ticket, uniform exhibition, historical Märklin Ferris wheel and more\nMuseum cafeteria\nBook and souvenir sale\n\n \n     \n\nProgramme subject to change.\n
